Perception Pathways | Career Camp

At The Perception Project, we are passionate about helping young people discover and pursue their career goals. We believe that everyone should have access to the tools and experiences needed to make informed decisions about their futures. Through our Perception Pathways Career Camps, participants explore different career options, gain real-world work experience, and learn from experienced professionals.

Our Career Camps serve individuals ages 14 to 21 with unique abilities, giving them the opportunity to build essential skills such as initiative, effective communication, teamwork, time management, and other vital soft skills. Thanks to funding from Vocational Rehabilitation, our camps are offered free of charge, and participants receive incentives for completing each camp.

Perception Pathways Career Camps offer a comprehensive, participant-centered experience. We focus on career exploration, career research, work-based learning, social skills, and life skills. We also emphasize the development of leadership and self-advocacy skills, helping participants gain confidence in navigating their futures.

For increased accessibility, we offer both in-person and Virtual Camps. Our Virtual Camps allow students to engage with guest speakers, participate in community outings, and benefit from the same robust curriculum — all from the comfort of their homes.

How to Get Started:
Participants must receive a referral from Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) to be eligible. There are two pathways to join:

• Students can be referred through the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program by their school district for limited pre-employment services.

• Students can also be referred directly by Vocational Rehabilitation.

Our Career Camps are made possible through a grant from Vocational Rehabilitation, ensuring that participants receive meaningful career exploration experiences at no cost to them.
